With the exception of this new outbreak, WHO
continues to receive updates on ongoing monkeypox case reporting through the
established surveillance mechanism for cases in endemic countries (Integrated
Disease Surveillance and Response). Monkeypox
is endemic in Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of
Congo, Gabon, Ghana (found only in animals), Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria,
Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone and South Sudan.
Based
on the genetic sequence information of monkeypox virus, RENDU BIOTECHNOLOGY has established a nucleic acid detection system for monkeypox virus, which can not
only specifically detect monkeypox virus, but also detect several viruses of
the genus orpoxvirus (camelpox, cowpox, monkeypox, varicella, smallpox) and
smallpox vaccine. The reagent system also contains human reference genes for
sample quality control. At present, this product has obtained CE Certificate.
